Boots, Music, and Heart: TX-03 Keeps Delivering for Flood Victims

By R.J. Morales | TX3DNews.com

Two weeks after devastating floods swept through Kerr County, Texans in the 3rd Congressional District haven’t backed down — they’ve doubled down.

It started with one truck full of supplies. But as soon as word got out that a trailer was heading to the flood zone, residents didn’t just ask if they could help — they asked when the next load was leaving.

Leadership on the Ground

Among those leading the charge is Maylee Thomas-Fuller, longtime McKinney resident, musician, founder of the Love Life Foundation, and wife of former McKinney Mayor George Fuller.

“As soon as I heard the news, I wanted to help — and I knew McKinney residents would jump on the opportunity,” Thomas-Fuller said. “We are a very generous city that has always supported our efforts to help the underserved. This was a chance to show our neighbors — people we don’t even know — what it means to love one another with action.”

Thomas-Fuller has been a steady presence in the community for decades, both as a performer and through her nonprofit. Her organization, the Love Life Foundation, is now in its 33rd year of serving at-risk populations across North Texas.

“We will be taking a load this Saturday and the following Saturday July 26th.”

“We’re having a benefit concert at the Sanctuary for some specific families and needs,” said Thomas-Fuller. “And then we’ll be dispersing that support the following week.”

Proceeds will go directly toward families most impacted by the flood, with targeted assistance being distributed based on urgent needs identified on the ground.

“I’ve long been a fan and participant at Luck Reunion,” she added, referencing her long-running radio show and podcast, Texas HomeGrown Music. “That spirit of Texas music and community is what inspired us to bring people together for something that truly matters.”

This won’t just be a concert — it will be an evening where music fuels recovery, compassion leads the setlist, and Collin County shows once again that it delivers in more ways than one.

No Politics — Just Purpose

This relief effort isn’t about headlines or elections — it’s about neighbors answering a call. From McKinney to Allen, from Princeton to Frisco, TX-03 residents are proving that you don’t have to know someone to care deeply about what they’re going through.

If you’ve already donated — thank you. If you haven’t yet, there’s still time. Every pair of boots, every case of water, every kind gesture is helping Texas families stand back up.

TX-03 may be miles away from Kerrville, but we’re showing the world what North Texas looks like in action — loud, loving, and relentless.
