About the Candidate
Michael Slaughter is a Collin County resident, business owner, and reserve law enforcement officer.
He and his wife, Leah, began their real estate investment company at age 19. Since 2006, he has
owned and managed multiple businesses in the Dallas–Fort Worth area as a real estate broker,
investor, and contractor.
He and his wife have fostered and later adopted four children, an experience he describes as
central to their family life and commitment to the community.
Why He’s Running for Precinct 2 Commissioner
Slaughter says Collin County’s rapid growth must be met with leadership that balances short-term
needs with long-term planning. He points to fiscal discipline, public safety, responsible growth,
and election transparency as core focuses of his campaign.
Public Service & Leadership Experience
Slaughter served on the Parker City Council and was selected as Mayor Pro Tem.
He has also served on local boards and commissions in Sachse and Parker, including the Animal
Shelter Board, Planning and Zoning Commission, and Parks and Recreation Commission.
Slaughter has served for more than a decade as a Reserve Law Enforcement Officer in Collin County,
holds the rank of Lieutenant, and currently leads the Reserve Unit. He has been activated to assist
with warrants, administrative duties, and emergency response.
