About Jim Garrison

Jim Garrison is a long-time McKinney resident with over 35 years of elected and appointed service to his community. His extensive experience includes serving on the City Council in Coppell, participating in Economic Development Boards, and acting as a liaison to the North Texas Council of Governments.
Currently, Jim serves as Vice Chair on the Building & Standards Commission in McKinney and is the President of the Villages of Eldorado II HOA, representing 742 families. His commitment to public service is evident in his dedication to transparency, public safety, and preserving the unique character of McKinney.
Why I’m Running
“I am running for the City Council At-Large position to represent all citizens of McKinney. One of my top priorities will ALWAYS be public safety. It is critical that the City Council always provide our law enforcement and first responders with all of the resources and support they need to perform their jobs!”
Jim believes in balancing development with preserving the city’s existing neighborhoods and infrastructure. He acknowledges the efforts of current and previous councils in preserving historic districts and pledges to continue these initiatives.
