Why She’s Running

Jackie is running to defend democratic representation, strengthen Texas public schools, and push back against policies she believes are weakening opportunity for working families. Her campaign centers on restoring full public school funding, protecting individual rights, and ensuring every resident has a real voice in Austin.

Experience & Public Service

Jackie’s record spans multiple fields where accountability and decision-making matter:

  • U.S. Naval Reserve: Ten years of service, including recognition as Sailor of the Year (1989)
  • Dallas Police Department: Served during the 1990s and received multiple commendations for community service
  • Telecommunications Leadership: Built a 25-year career designing enterprise voice solutions, leading teams, and solving complex challenges for organizations worldwide
  • Community Engagement: Volunteer work supporting families, children, and community health initiatives

Priorities for District 61

  • Fully fund public education and strengthen public schools as the backbone of Texas communities
  • Protect fair representation by opposing voter suppression and extreme gerrymandering
  • Address affordability through action on housing costs, wage gaps, and access to affordable healthcare
  • Protect Texas natural resources for the public interest—not corporate profit
  • Deliver accountable leadership focused on practical solutions, not political games

“When I see something broken, I step up.”
