Rangers Sweep Rays, Head to Chicago at 8–2 and Rolling

The Texas Rangers are off to a red-hot start, and North Texas fans are loving every second of it.

Sunday’s walk-off 4–3 win over Tampa Bay sealed a three-game sweep at Globe Life Field, thanks to Jonah Heim’s clutch single in the bottom of the ninth. That makes five straight wins and puts the Rangers at 8–2 on the season—top of the AL West, and looking sharp.

The pitching? Locked in. The bullpen? Holding it down. And the bats—well, they’re waking up. Corey Seager finally knocked his first homer of the season, and Wyatt Langford’s already making noise in his sophomore campaign. Marcus Semien’s still a little quiet, but if history’s any guide, he won’t stay that way for long.

Next up: the Rangers head north to Wrigley Field tonight for the first of three against the Chicago Cubs (7–5). First pitch is at 6:40 p.m. CT, and it’s a strong matchup: Nathan Eovaldi (1–0, 1.20 ERA) takes the mound for Texas, squaring off against Cubs lefty Justin Steele (2–1, 6.89 ERA).

The wind might be blowing out in Chicago, but if the Rangers keep playing like this, it won’t matter which way it’s blowing.
