In the immortal words of former manager Ron Washington: “That’s the way baseball go.” And no doubt about it—baseball, folks, it’s weird. The Texas Rangers just took 2 out of 3 games from the Cincinnati Reds and still somehow got outscored 14-5 in the series. That’s not a typo. They lost by 11 runs in Game 1… and still won the series. Legendary stuff.
Game 1: The Reds Bring the Pain
Texas got absolutely walloped in the opener, 14-3. Cincinnati’s Elly De La Cruz drove in seven runs like he was playing MLB: The Show on Rookie mode. We don’t talk about Game 1.
Game 2: Eovaldi Says “Not Today”
Nathan Eovaldi came in throwing flames and gave the Reds nothing—zero, to be precise. He tossed a complete game shutout, struck out eight, and got all the offense he needed from Wyatt Langford’s solo homer in the first. Rangers win 1-0, tie the series, and stop the bleeding.
Game 3: Leiter Lights It Up
Jack Leiter looked like a seasoned ace, retiring the first 11 batters and giving the Rangers five shutout innings. One run from Josh Smith’s RBI double was all it took. Another 1-0 win, another W in the books. Boom—series won.
In Summary:
Total runs: Reds 14, Rangers 5
Games won: Rangers 2, Reds 1
Math? Who needs it. Baseball is vibes.
