Meet Sharad
I am Sharad Ramani, and I am running for Princeton City Council, Place 4. My background is rooted in more than 30 years of professional experience managing complex operations and large-scale budgets, combined with a strong foundation in family values and accountability.
I have been a consistent presence at Princeton City Council meetings, speaking up for residents and pushing for fairness, transparency, and responsible leadership. Many of these advocacy efforts are documented on my Advocacy in Action page, where residents can review examples of that work in the community.
Throughout my career in global procurement and strategic sourcing, I have worked in high-stakes environments where discipline, precision, and results matter. I bring that same approach to public service.
I have been married for 27 years, and my family remains central to my perspective on leadership—grounded in responsibility, integrity, and long-term thinking.
Why I’m Running
Princeton is growing quickly, and the decisions being made today will shape the city for years to come. I am running to ensure those decisions are thoughtful, transparent, and financially responsible.
Residents deserve leadership that reviews proposals carefully, asks the right questions, and protects taxpayer dollars. That is the standard I will bring to City Hall.
“Taxpayer dollars should be managed with discipline and accountability.”
Focus Areas
Smart Growth
Princeton must expand its commercial and medical base to reduce reliance on residential taxes and support long-term stability.
Fiscal Discipline
Every proposal should be reviewed with a focus on efficiency, value, and long-term impact on taxpayers.
Transparency
Residents should have clear access to financial information and city decisions that affect their community.
Professional Leadership
A productive council requires preparation, collaboration, and a commitment to respectful, results-driven governance.
Accountability
Serving on City Council requires careful oversight—not rubber-stamping decisions, but ensuring each action benefits residents.
