Meet Billy

I’m Billy Barron, a Parker resident and native Texan with a background in public service, technology, and finance.

I earned my master’s degree in computer science from the University of North Texas. After graduating, I spent about a decade working for the State of Texas at UNT and UT Dallas. I later built a career in information technology and now serve as the chief financial officer of an insurance broker.

Community service has long been important to me. Before joining the Parker City Council, I served as chair of the Parks and Recreation Commission, secretary of the Home Rule Charter Commission, and treasurer and board member of my HOA. I’m also a Collin County Master Gardener.

Why I’m Running

I was appointed in 2025 to fill an open seat on the Parker City Council, and I’m running to continue serving the city.

One of the biggest issues facing Parker is growth. I believe development should fit the character of our community, be carefully reviewed, and reflect the expectations residents have for the future of the city.

“Responsible Growth. Strong Services. Thoughtful Leadership.”

What I’m Focused On

Infrastructure

I want to continue improving roads, drainage, and city facilities so Parker is prepared for the future.

Public Safety & Services

I support strong public safety and reliable city services that meet the needs of residents.

Development

I believe growth should be reasonable, well researched, and consistent with Parker’s character, including in the ETJ.

Fiscal Responsibility & Transparency

I believe city government should be transparent, fiscally responsible, and focused on sound decision-making.

Community Engagement

I want to engage with as many residents as possible and encourage civil discussion, collaboration, and thoughtful leadership.
