Sonia Ledezma, a former Princeton ISD teacher and certified bilingual educator with more than a decade of classroom experience, is running for the Board of Trustees with a focus on student success, family partnerships, and transparent decision-making.

Background
Ledezma earned a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies (EC–6) from East Texas A&M University and a Master’s in Counseling with a focus on Student Affairs. She is a certified Bilingual Texas Educator who has taught in Princeton ISD classrooms, gaining firsthand insight into curriculum, data analysis, and best practices that drive student achievement.
Beyond the classroom, she has served on the district’s Site-Based Improvement Committee, coached little league soccer, and volunteers with the Samaritan Inn. She also partners with parents to study education laws and help families understand their rights, ensuring they can navigate the system with confidence.
Why She’s Running
“I am running for Princeton ISD School Board because our district is at a pivotal moment. Families, teachers, and students are asking for leadership that prioritizes student success, clear communication, and responsible decision-making. I am ready to meet that call and fight for the future of our schools.”
Ledezma emphasizes that every learner deserves meaningful support, whether in special education, gifted and talented, dyslexia services, ESL, or other specialized paths. Families should be treated as partners, and teachers as irreplaceable leaders of student success. Fiscal responsibility, she says, must go beyond balancing a budget—making transparent decisions that maximize every taxpayer dollar for student learning.
Key Priorities
- Student Success & Support: Ensure all learners—from special education to gifted and talented—are valued, supported, and challenged.
- Families & Teachers: Strengthen communication with families and provide teachers the resources and voice they need to focus on student outcomes.
- Transparency & Fiscal Responsibility: Use resources wisely, keep decisions student-centered, and communicate clearly with the community.
