Meet Irvin
Irvin Lynn Barrett is an Allen pastor, chaplain and community advocate running as the Democratic nominee for Collin County Justice of the Peace, Precinct 3.
Originally from Broadview, Illinois, Barrett moved to Texas in 2008. He has more than 34 years of pastoral leadership experience and serves as senior pastor of Shalom Community Fellowship Church.
His background also includes work as a chaplain, bereavement coordinator, volunteer coordinator, licensed insurance agent, notary public and custom clothier. He has served on boards and committees in Allen, Plano, Collin County and the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Why He’s Running
Barrett says his years working with families as a pastor and chaplain shaped his belief that people who enter a local courtroom should be heard, treated with dignity and able to understand the process.

Barrett is the Democratic nominee for Collin County Justice of the Peace, Precinct 3. He previously sought the office in 2022 and returned as the Democratic candidate in 2026.
He faces Republican incumbent Mike Missildine in the Nov. 3 general election.
